John Lance Kelley , 52 of White Oak, Ga. passed away at his residence early Monday morning, April 13th, 2009 following a courageous battle with cancer.
Mr. Kelley is a Camden County, GA native. He was born in Fernandina Beach on August 10th, 1956 and is the son of Sherman Gilbert “Buddy” Kelley Sr. and the late Mary Gloria Smith, Kelley.
Mr. Kelley was employed by Gilman Paper Co. for over twenty eight years. There he served as a millwright in the maintenance department. He was also employed with Kelley’s Towing. Mr. Kelley was a family man who greatly enjoyed spending time with his family and puttering around in the outdoors.
Mr. Kelley is survived by his beloved wife Angela Kelley of White Oak; his daughter Julia Lene’ Kelley of Folkston; his son Jason Dinkins Kelley of White Oak, his father Sherman Gilbert “Buddy” Kelley, Sr. of Woodbine; his brothers and their spouses Sherman Gilbert “Gil” Kelley, Jr. and Kaye, and Alvin Keith Kelley and Pat all of Woodbine; his aunt June Smith Holland (James) of Brewton, AL.; his uncle Alvin Smith (Sidney) of Fernandina Beach, FL. and a grandchild Devin Hunter Kelley of White Oak.
A visitation will be held at the funeral home from 6 to 8 PM Wednesday, April 15th, 2009.
Funeral services will be held grave side at 11:00 AM Thursday April 16th, 2009 at Homeward Cemetery in Waverly, Ga with Pastors Leslie Whitley and Tim Rowell presiding. Casket bearers will be Craig Smith, Scott McCullough, Norman Burkawski, Larry Turner, Glenn Warner and Steve Hernandez.
Any memorial contributions can be made at Satilla Community Bank in Kingsland in care of Linda Johnson or Wendy Crepel to help cover the mounting medical bills.
