Mr. John McDill, age 77, passed away on the afternoon of Monday, January 15th, 2024, at his home in Kingsland, Ga.
Mr. McDill was born on April 28th, 1946, in Gadsden, Al. to the late Oval and Irene McDill. He married Ms. Teresa ReaddickMcDill, on September 11, 1976, and the couple celebrated 47years of marriage and love before his passing.
John will always be remembered as a Father, Grandfather, and Friend to all who knew him. His zest for family, friendship, University of Alabama football, and his community has left a lasting impression on all who knew him and his legacy lives on in each of us.
Mr. McDill is survived by his wife, Teresa McDill; his children, Brandy (Lane) McConnell and Jonathan (Erin) McDill; brother-in-law Rocky (Linda) Readdick; sister-in-law, Teresa Readdick.; nephews, Billy “Chip” (Charlie) McDill, Trevor (Nicole) Readdick, Phelan Readdick, Gregory (Becky) Jackson; niece, Dorothy “Dottie” (Ken) Berry; and his grandchildren, Carrigan McConnell, Caden McConnell, Readdick “Reed” McDill, and Ethan McDill.
Besides his parents, Mr. McDill joins his late brother (Billy Orr McDill, Sr.) and sister-in-law (Doris McDill) and many beloved relatives and friends in Heaven.
An open visitation will be held from 1 pm to 2 pm on Friday, January 19th, 2024, at the Kingsland First Baptist Church, 295 E. Chester Street, in Kingsland, Ga. Funeral Services will follow at 2 pm at the church. Interment will be held at Brazell-Peeples Cemetery in Kingsland, Ga. following Services. Pallbearers presiding are: Jonathan McDill, Rocky Readdick, Trevor Readdick, Lane McConnell, Pat Brown, Gregory Jackson and Jim Bridger (honorary).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to The Parkinson’s Foundation or the UF Proton Therapy Institute, to the charity of your choice, or to someone in need.
