Joseph Rowell

Mr. Joseph Allen “Joey” Rowell , age 53 of St. Marys, Ga. passed quietly at his residence Friday, August 16th, 2013.
Mr. Rowell was born in Dayton, Ohio on November 10th. 1959. He is the son of the late Cecil Rowell and Elvida Thornton Rowell. After high school, Joey, as he was known, served his country as a member of the US Navy. He later attended trade school and became a professional locksmith. Joey’s family said of him that he loved God and his family. Joey enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed the little things in life like cutting grass and cooking. He had a profound sense of humor and could talk and make friends with anybody. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in St. Marys. Joey will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him best.
Mr. Rowell is survived by his mother, Mrs. Elvida Rowell of St. Marys; his daughter and her husband, Staci and Ken Register of Valdosta; his grandchildren, Kaid, Kennedi. Kamden and Karis Register; and his sister in law Mary Rowell of St. Marys.
Besides his father, Mr. Rowell joins his recently departed brother, Danny Cecil Rowell in Heaven.
A visitation will be held at 11 am Monday in Calvary Baptist Church at 507 Borrell Avenue in St. Marys. Funeral services will follow there at 12 noon with Pastor Fred Woolard presiding. Interment and committal services will follow at Corinth Cemetery in Folkston. Ga.
