Ms. Josephine Frances Wammock , age 92 of Kingsland, Ga. passed away on the evening of Friday, August 31st, 2012 in Kingsland.
Ms. Wammock was born in on April the 9th, 1920. She is the daughter of the late Charles Benjamin and Sarah Connell Hamilton. Josephine was an accomplished pianist. Josephine played the piano for the surrounding churches, for weddings and for many other functions. At age 90, she retired after 65 years of teaching piano lessons. She was also known for her beautiful flower gardens! Josephine was a born again Christian of the Pentecostal faith and being a Christian is what made her tick. She will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved her best.
Ms. Wammock is survived by her children, Jo Frances S. Connelly and Linda S, Rice of Harriett’s Bluff, Harriet S. Buckey of Gray, Ga. and Herbert S. Sheffield, Jr. of Metairie, La.; her sister, Elizabeth H. Hinson of Bakersfield, Ca.; her niece, Sandra H. Gerhardt of Milwaukee, Or.; and her best friend who cared for her, Shelley and her husband Johnny Skipper of Kingsland.
Besides her parents, Ms. Wammock was preceded in passing by her brother, Lucius C. Hamilton.
Calling hours for Ms. Wammock will be from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday, September 4th, 2012 in the funeral home. Funeral services will be held graveside at 10 AM in Lawnwood Cemetery in Kingsland with Rev. Bob Hughes and Bro. Daniel Branistarenu presiding.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to be made in her name to Friendship Baptist Church, PO Box 471, Kingsland, Ga. 31548.
