Kaitlyn Shannon

February 2, 1998 — November 23, 2023

Ms. Kaitlyn Jessica Shannon, age 25 of Nahunta, Ga. passed away on Thursday, November 23 rd ,2023 at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick, Ga.

Ms. Shannon was born on February 2 nd , 1998 in Brunswick, Ga. to Justin Shannon and Sharon Strickland.

Kaitlyn, affectionately known as Bug or Katie-bug, left behind a legacy of love, compassion, and courage that will forever be etched in our hearts. Kaitlyn's world revolved around the love she had for her precious daughter, Peighton. Peighton was the light of Kaitlyn's life, and every action she took was fueled by a mother's devotion. It was a joy to witness the bond between them, a love that transcends time and space.

In the tapestry of Kaitlyn's life, her mother Sharon was not just a presence but her very best friend. Their bond was unbreakable, and they spoke to each other numerous times a day, sharing the highs and lows that life presented. Kaitlyn's deepest desire was to be near her mom, and in a poignant reflection of their inseparable connection, she will be laid to rest just steps from her home, forever close to the heart of the person she cherished most in this world.

Family meant everything to Kaitlyn, and she cherished the moments spent with her father Justin and brothers, especially at Cabin Bluff. Those were times of laughter, treasured memories, and the simple pleasures of being surrounded by nature. The outdoors held a special place in Kaitlyn's heart, and she found solace in the beauty of the countryside she loved.

Kaitlyn was not only a lover of family and nature; she was a true peacemaker. Her spirit thrived on bringing people together, fostering harmony and understanding. However, don't be fooled by her gentle demeanor, for Kaitlyn was also a fierce fighter. Unafraid to stand up for what she believed was right, she confronted injustice head-on, showing a strength that belied her gentle nature.

Her legacy is one of compassion, bravery, and a relentless pursuit of justice. She was a gift to the world, a beacon of light that shone brightly even in the darkest of times. As we say our goodbyes, let us remember Kaitlyn for the beautiful soul she was. Let her memory inspire us to love deeply, to stand up for what is right, and to find solace in the embrace of family and nature. In our hearts, Kaitlyn's light will continue to shine, and her spirit will live on in the stories we share and the love we give. Rest in peace, dear Bug.
