Katherine Mays

Mrs. Katherine Luann Shupe Mays, age 77, passed away on the evening of Wednesday, November 27th, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family.
On January 8th, 1942, Katherine Luann Shupe was born to Katherine and Bruce Shupe. Katherine was an active, loving, and dedicated daughter. She is a graduate of Fries High School. In June 1958, she met and later married Buddy Mays on September 8th, 1959 and they remained married for next 60 years. She was the mother of three daughters, Lesa, Rhonda, and Karen. Katherine was a loving and dedicated mother to her girls. She was a soldier’s wife and traveled to several foreign countries. Katherine was active in various sports and she loved bowling, in which she won several tournaments. She held various vocations, and her proudest vocation was when she ran a home child care service for some 13 years. She loved Christmas and belied in Jesus Christ, and has joined him in eternity. Katherine was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Kingsland, Ga.
Mrs. Mays is survived by her beloved husband, Buddy Mays, of Kingsland, Ga.; her daughters, Lisa Weideman of NC., Rhonda Mays of Kingsland, Ga., and Karen Mays of Yulee, Fl.; her grandchildren, Marquita Mays, Joshua Weideman, Tyrone Mays, and Matthew Weideman; and her great-grandchildren, Anthony Tunis, Bryan Mays, Olivia Mays, Adrian Mays, George Bryce, and Albert Bryce.
Besides her parents, Mrs. Mays joins her son in law, Randy Weideman and brother, Harrison Shupe in Heaven.
A graveside service for Mrs. Mays will begin at 12 noon on Tuesday, December 3rd, 2019 at Lawnwood Cemetery in Kingsland, Ga. with Rev. Dr. Jim Weldon presiding.
