Kelley Awtry

Mr. Kelley M. Awtry, age 80 of Griffin, GA passed away Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Brightmoor Hospice in Griffin.
Mr. Awtry was born in Experiment, Georgia on December 27, 1931 to the late Hershel V. Awtry and the late Pearl Kelley Awtry. He was also preceded in death by his grandson, Jason Awtry and son-in-law, Larry Johnson. Mr. Awtry was a member of the Griffin Centerpoint Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War. He retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation where he worked as a highway inspector and also served as a deputy coroner in Griffin.
Survivors include his wife, Lou Ann Awtry of Griffin; daughter, Linda Awtry Johnson of Memphis, TN formerly of Griffin; son and daughter-in-law, Dwayne and Susan Awtry of Williamson, GA; brother, Larry V. Awtry of Boston, MA; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Awtry will be held on Monday, August 27, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Griffin Center Point Church on 1427 US-41 Bypass South in Griffin. Reverend Tracy Stone, Reverend Walter Langdon, and Reverend Hugh Smith will officiate. Interment will follow at Griffin Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit the family on Sunday, August 26, 2012 from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M.at Griffin Center Point Church.
