Kristen Rust

Mrs. Kristen Leigh Ann Rust, age 42, passed away in the early morning hours of Tuesday, December 19th, 2023 at her home in Kingsland, Ga.

Mrs. Rust was born on January 27th, 1981 in Stillwater, Ok. to Michael Countess and Luellen Oliver Peterman.

Kristen devoted her entire life to serving others. From her children, husband, other navy spouses, church members, neighbors, or a stranger, she always spread joy and help to anyone, anywhere, anytime. She was the perfect balance of throwing down to have fun (literally the best party host), to serious conversations when needed. An outstanding cook, and the best “people person” most have ever met.

She cooked delicious, full spread meals with no recipes or timers. She was an uncanny poker player. She threw cornhole bags ridiculously accurate. She made the funniest memes if she beat you in fantasy football. She had an eye for interior decorating. She could always find the best deal for clothing, tickets, or big purchases. She was beautiful, even without makeup. She advocated for marriage for numerous hurting couples. She adamantly told people about Jesus and helped many with their faith. She loaned an ear and gave premium advice to so many youths. Kristen was so adventurous and always had a full schedule for her family. She balanced work, fun, church, and family so easily. She is loved by so many because she has loved so many.

Mrs. Rust is survived by her husband, Bart Rust of Kingsland, Ga.; her children, Charley Countess, Cameron Rust, Lily Countess, Josey Countess, and Morgan Rust, all of Kingsland, Ga.; her father, Michael Countess of Yulee, Fl.; her mother, Luellen (Karl) Peterman of Stillwater, Ok.; her grandmothers, Shirley Gustavson of Broken Arrow, Ok. and Lela Oliver of Stillwater, Ok.; her sister, Jamie (Travis) Riley of Sapulpa, Ok.; her brothers, Michael (Katie) Thurber, Justin Countess, Nick McKosato, and Evan Peterman, all of Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation will be held from 9:30 am until 11 am on Wednesday, December 27 ^th , 2023 at the Kingsland First Baptist Church. Funeral Services will begin at 11 am at the church. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Marys, Ga.
