Larry Johnson

Mr. Larry Wayne Johnson , age 70 of Kingsland, Ga. passed away on Wednesday, October 19 th , 2016 at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick, Ga.
Wayne was born in Lake City, Florida on September 7 th , 1946. He is the son of Mary Rosa Lee Bryant Nelson and the late Clifford C. Johnson. Wayne was a member of the 1962 CCHS championship football team. He was a hardcore fan of both the Camden County Wildcats and the Georgia Bulldog teams. He served honorably in the US Navy for 23 years as a Chief Petty Officer on the nuclear cruiser USS Texas. He was a loving son, father and brother to his family and to his many friends. Wayne was a very giving man and will be greatly missed.
Mr. Johnson is survived by his daughter, Angela Dycus of Sacramento, Ca.; his mother, Rosa Lee Nelson of Kingsland, Ga.; his sister, Janice Campbell of Kingsland, Ga.; his brothers, Cliff & his wife, Kathy Johnson of Galveston Island, Tx., Dan & his wife, Michelle Johnson of Mooresville, NC, and Donald & his wife, Lynn Johnson of Kennebunkport, Me.; his grandchildren Jessica & Jaron; and his 2 great-grandchildren.
On Saturday October 22 nd , 2016, a visitation will be held from 1 until 2 PM with memorial services following at 2 PM, all in the chapel of Coastal Camden Funeral Home. Military honors are to be rendered.
The family requests any memorial donations in Mr. Johnson’s honor go to the Humane Society of Camden County/ 950 S Grove Blvd, Kingsland, GA 31548 or the Shriners Hospitals for Children at www.shrinershospitals.org/Donate?.
