Lawrence “Larry” Brian Kitchen (54), of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away on the evening of Tuesday, November 22nd, 2022, at his home. Larry was born on October 23rd, 1968, in Elkhart, Indiana to Louise & Bonnie Kitchen. Larry served as a Fire Controlman in the United States Navy for 20 years, retiring as a Chief Petty Officer. He later became a government employee for the United States Navy for 10 years. Finally, he took a job working for JLL in his retirement.
Larry spent his free time being outdoors. He loved to hunt, fish, and take his dogs for walks. He enjoyed working on cars and building anything he could.
He married Karla King on 10/21/2006 in Mayport, Florida.
He is survived by his wife, Karla Kitchen, of Jacksonville, FL; his daughters Kimberly (Brian) Corkran of San Diego, CA., Amanda Sapp (Xavier Knapp) of Bremerton, WA., Eliza (Gabriel) Reno of Las Cruces, NM., & Kayla (Chris) Carlisle of San Diego, CA; his mother Bonnie Kidd and brothers Don (Rita) Kitchen, Bill (Shannon) Kitchen, & Allen Kidd of New Paris, IN., and his grandchildren Katelynn & Emily Corkran of San Diego, CA.
He was a bonus dad and Pawpaw to many. He is leaving behind his beloved dogs Bentley and Oakley along with his friends at the Best Buds Dog Club.
He is preceded in death by his father Louise Kitchen & Art Kidd (Stepfather).
A visitation will be held from 2 pm to 3 pm at Thursday, December 1st, 2022 at Coastal Camden Funeral Home in Kingsland, Ga. A memorial service will follow at 3pm in the Woods-Wainwright Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Randall Dockery presiding.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or to Pets for Vets.
