Ms. Lila Rebecca Cribbs, age 82, passed away on the morning of Friday, February 13th, 2026 at her home in White Oak, Ga.
Ms. Cribbs was born on December 14th, 1943 in Statesboro Ga to the late John and Lila Mae Dixon.
Lila was known by her family and friends as Becky. She spent her life taking care of everyone she loved, and she loved many. She spent many mornings in the kitchen making pancakes for every person who walked through the front door, and they were the best pancakes any of us ever had. She had few rules in her home, but everyone knew of three. That one frying pan was only for eggs, do not bleach that tea pot and those sewing scissors better not see a piece of paper. She took great pride in cooking, sewing and putting off those dishes until tomorrow. She cared for all children and spent many years working with the Department of Family and Children Services. She found the work to be incredibly rewarding and took great pride in helping reunite families. Most of all she loved her husband of over 50 years. She would wake many mornings before work and fry chicken for his lunches, because every woman knows the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and every hunter that had a pancake.
Ms. Cribbs is survived by her daughter Serenia (Kenny Desperate) Lyons of Woodbine, Ga.; her sons, William (Tonya) Cribbs and Terry Cribbs; her grandchildren, Joshua (Ashley) Cribbs, Wayne (Virginia Thomas) Larrison, Serenia (Brian) O’Berry, Jacob (Jessica) Larrison, Petyon Cribbs, Caleb Cribbs, and Nicholas Cribbs; and her great-grandchildren, Braylee Cribbs, Kennedy Cribbs, Addison Larrison, and LJ Larrison; and her brother, Delmas (Sarah) Dixon.
Besides her parents, Ms. Cribbs was preceded in death by her husband, Elzie Cribbs, Jr. and her brother, Soloman Sparks.
A visitation will be held from 1 to 2 pm Tuesday, February 17th, 2026 at Coastal Camden Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2 pm with Pastor Joshua Cribbs presiding. Interment will be at Lawnwood Cemetery in Kingsland, Ga. Wayne Larrison, Brian O’Berry, Jacob Larrison, Caleb Cribbs, Adam O’Berry, and Anthony O’Berry will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be James Larrison and Billy Larrison.
