Mrs. Marie Gloria Helen Slattery, age 83 of St Marys, Ga., passed away on the morning of Friday, December 11th, 2020 at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross, Ga.
Mrs. Slattery was born on February 1st, 1937 in Madawaska, Me. To the late Edwin and Bernadette Chasse. She married William Slattery of Lowell, Ma. She was a wife and mother until her husband passed away. She raised 4 children ages 10 years to 4 months old, on her own doing what she did best, cooking and cleaning. She was the cafeteria supervisor at the high school her sons attended. After several other employment opportunities, she retired from Aetna Insurance corp in Hartford Ct, where she was the Cafeteria manager. She enjoyed helping others while at the Coastal Senior Care and Folkston Park Nursing center.
Ms. Slattery is survived by her children, William L. Slattery, III (Sheryl) of Kingsland, Ga., John E. Slattery (Hilary) of Colechester, Ct., Marie H. Cook (Thomas) of Pittsburg, Pa., and Paul Slattery (Mona) of Graham, Wa.; her sister, Laurette Morrisey (Dave) of Milwaukee, Wi.; her grandchildren, Shawn Slattery, Kaitlin Slattery, Myriam Slattery, Tybal Slattery and Tielor Isaac; and her great-grandchildren, Finn Slattery, Donovan Slattery, Conor Cook, Delaney Cook, and Hazel Isaac.
Besides her parents, Ms. Slattery was also preceded in passing by her husband, William Slattery, Jr.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Mrs. Slattery's name to the charity of your choice.
A Celebration of Ms. Slattery’s life will be held at 2 pm Saturday, December 19th, 2020 at Coastal Camden Funeral Home in Kingsland, Ga.
