Mrs. Martha Jane Price , age 65 of the US 17 community of Woodbine, passed away at her residence on the early evening of Thursday, May 31st, 2012.
Mrs. Price was born September 20th, 1946 in Folkston, Ga. She is the daughter of the late Homer and Emma Jane Dyal Prescott. During her life, Mrs. Price was a devoted mother and housewife. She and Wayne were wed on June 29th, 1963 in Kingsland and they have shared almost 50 years together as husband and wife. She was a very avid reader and loved to cook. She never met a stranger and loved a good conversation. Mrs. Price will be remembered for her giving ways, from visiting the sick and hospital bound, to buying extra staples for her family during one of her many bargain hunts. Her attentiveness and selflessness in giving to others, forsaking her own needs, showed her strong Christian values. Mrs. Price will be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by both her family and friends. She was of the Pentecostal faith.
Mrs. Price is survived by her husband, J. Wayne Price of Woodbine; her daughters and their spouses, Theresa and Tony Miller of Kingsland, Sheila and Lance Nicklaus of Dixon, Il., and Janet and Chad Porter of Kingsland; her grandchildren, Dalton Nicklaus, Hunter Miller, Dorsey Popham, III, Alex Popham, Trevor Popham, Waylon Popham, Tristan Porter, Bryanna Porter and Jordan Porter and her great niece and nephew, Nichole O’Conner and Terry Bone. Besides her parents, Mrs. Price was preceded in passing by her brother, Homer Wilson Prescott in 1943 and her sisters, Mary Catherine Prescott in 1955 and Shirley Faye Wells in 1984.
A celebration of remembrance will be held at 11 AM, Monday June 4th, 2012 in the Wainwright Chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Vernon Dillingham presiding.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contribution be made to Heartland Hospice, 664 Scranton Road Unit 103, Brunswick, GA 31520.
