Marvin Carlisle

Mr. Marvin R. Carlisle, Jr., age 65, of Griffin, GA passed away Sunday, January 19, 2014 at Southern Crescent Hospital in Riverdale.

Mr. Marvin Carlisle was born in Birmingham, AL on December 11, 1948 to the late Marvin Robert Carlisle, Sr. and the late Obeline Holmes Carlisle Denson. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy Carlisle and an infant son. Mr. Carlisle was a truck driver for many years and volunteered as a firefighter. He loved to fish and compete in bass tournaments.

Survivors include daughter, Kelly Carlisle; sons, Christopher and David Carlisle, all of Illinois; sisters, Peggy Gonzalez of IL, Gloria Chigges of Griffin; brother, Wayne Carlisle of Murphy, NC; grandson, Alex Kearns; several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services for Mr. Marvin R. Carlisle will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at 7 pm at Faith Baptist Church in Zebulon. Pastor Nesbit Odom will officiate.
