Mrs. Mary E. Cogdill, age 90, of Griffin, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at Brightmoor Hospice.
Mrs. Cogdill was born December 10, 1924 in Fayette County, Alabama, to the late Sarah Brown Wyers and the late Samuel Grover Wyers. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Bernard Cogdill.
She is survived by her sons, Russell E. Cogdill of Douglasville and Joseph G. Cogdill of Villa Rica; daughter Melissa Ritter of Griffin; 8 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law Bobbie and Emmett Still of Locust Grove; sister-in-law Frankie Wyers of Winfield, AL; and many nieces and nephews and dear friends at The Woods Assisted Living in Griffin.
Funeral services for Mrs. Cogdill will be held Saturday April 18, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel at Heritage Funeral Home. Reverend Herman Wike and Reverend E. C. Chatham will officiate. Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Gardens in LaGrange at 3:30. Friends and family are invited to visit the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
