Mrs. Mary Margaret Carroll Greene, age 85 of Griffin, GA, passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at Christian Ministries Hospice.
Mrs. Greene was born on February 19, 1927 in Coffee County, Alabama to the late James E. Carroll and the late Bonnie Gallimore Carroll. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James. D. Greene and three children, Curtis Allen Greene, Bonnie Greene Brown, Ronald Edward Greene and sister Polly Greene Sellner. Mrs. Greene retired from K-Mart after over 20 years of service. She was the oldest living hospice volunteer for Christian Ministries Hospice. Mrs. Greene was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a great- great -grandmother.
Survivors include her sons and daughter-in-law, Don and Cindy Greene of Sharpsburg, GA and Richard Greene of Georgia; daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy and John Pilgrim, Debbie and Tommy Thomas of Griffin; 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Greene will be conducted Friday, September 21, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Home. Pastor Larry Ballard will officiate. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit the family on Thursday, September 20, 2012 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
