Mary Lou Howell, 83, of Kingsland, Ga. passed away in her sleep on Christmas night and was greeted in Heaven by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on his birthday. Born in Fitzgerald, Ga. on the 4th of July, 1940, Ms. Howell was a proud child of the Cotton Mill Village, until her family moved to Macon in 1951. She attended the Cotton Mill School and Public Schools

n Macon. She played basketball at Dudley Hughes High School.
Ms. Howell came to Camden County, Ga. in 1977. Mary Lou adored her two boys, Larry, Jr. and Michael. She treasured her grandchildren and her great-grandkids with all of her heart and soul. She was a member of the Harbor Worship Center and was a devoted Christian throughout her life. Ms. Howell was employed by the City of Kingsland for several years until her retirement.
A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, January 2
nd
, 2024 at the Harbor Worship Center located at 140 Colerain Road in Kingsland. Pastor Mike Sanes will officiate. Visitation will be from 12-2 pm and the funeral service will begin at 2 pm. Interment will be at Lawnwood Cemetery in Kingsland following the service.
Ms. Howell was predeceased by her former husband, Larry Howell; her father, Homer Hester; her mother, Maggie Hester; and her brother, Bobby Hester. Left to cherish her memories are her sons, Larry, Jr. and Michael Howell of Ivey, Ga.; her grandchildren, Brandi Bonnett (Geoff), Kingsland, Jemery Howell (Nicole), Kissimmee, Fl., Jason Howell, Kingsland, & Tara Howell, St. Marys; her brothers, Billy Hester (Sheila) Macon & Keith Hester (Linda), Gray; her cousins. Kay Myers, Dublin & Judy McCallam (Ken) of Senoia, Ga., along with her seven great-grandchildren and a host of other cousins, nieces and nephews.
