Mary Jane Townsend Rawl, 82, passed away peacefully at her home in Woodbine, Georgia on the afternoon of December 6,2023.
She was born in Woodbine Georgia to William Francis Townsend and Viola Miller Townsend.
She attended Camden County School System. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Woodbine.
She married the love of her life, Eddie Rawl on December 24, 1957, at the Woodbine Methodist Church. They would have celebrated 66 years of marriage this year.
Three children were blessed to call her Mama. They are Karen Daniels of Woodbine, Edward Rawl of Woodbine, and Cindy (Travis) Flowers of Hortense.
She was given the title of Nanny from her ever-growing family and was so very proud of each one of them and every accomplishment they had.

She also leaves to cherish her memory Jan Williamson, Barbara Kahler, and numerous other family members and her beloved Tippy the cat.
Mary Jane first loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, her husband Eddie and each one of her children and grandchildren and extended family members. She instilled in each one of them a love for Jesus, a good work ethic and to care for others. She loved to cook and passed her excellent cooking skills along to her family. She worked along with her husband in the family business, Rawl’s, for many years. She also cared for grandchildren as they were growing up while their parents worked and helped get them to sporting events and functions. She worked alongside her husband as a dedicated Pastors wife as they ministered together in the churches he served. She enjoyed reading, family gatherings, visits from her family, bird watching and beautiful flowers. She loved to go shopping and surveying the streets of Woodbine on a ride about every day.

Services will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 At First Baptist Church of Woodbine. Rev. James Roberson will be performing the service. Visitation one hour prior to the service 10am to 11am followed by the service at 11am. Interment following at Colesburg Cemetery.
