Mrs. Mary Sisson
September 15, 1930 – March 29, 2016

Mrs. Mary Ruth McVey Sisson, 85, of Griffin Georgia passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at Brightmoor Hospice.

Mrs. Sisson was born in Blue Ridge Georgia on September 15, 1930. She is preceded in death by her husband Rev. Ed Sisson, her parents Green Berry and Dora McVey, her sister Shirley Norton, brothers Hertis McVey, Hal McVey, and Harold McVey.

Survivors include her children, Eddy and Lynda Sisson, Pat and Kim Willis, and Pam Grubbs. Her grandchildren are Adam Grubbs, Brandon and Lindsey Grubbs, Tyler Willis, Mary Kathryn Willis, Carson Willis, Colby Willis, Jared Sisson, Luke Sisson, and great grandchildren Brailey and Braxton Grubbs, all of Griffin, Georgia. Her surviving siblings are Thelma Harden, Helen Jones and Ruth McVey of Cartersville Georgia, Jo and Ernest Jones of McCaysville GA, and Jimmy and Barbra McVey of Ellijay, Georgia. She is also survived by Velma Brantley, a close-family friend.

Mrs. Sisson was a very supportive wife to Rev. Sisson and served by his side in the ministry for 42 years. She was always willing to roll her sleeves up and do whatever she could to advance the work of the church and spread the gospel. She worked with missions both locally and world-wide through her church and WMU. She also worked 26 years at Thomaston Mills. Mrs. Sisson, known as Mom, Grandmother and Ahma, loved her family. She was especially proud of grandchildren but worked endlessly to keep her family unit together.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Ruth McKvey Sisson will be held Friday, April 1, 2016 at 11:00 am at Second Baptist Church in Griffin. Entombment will follow in Westwood Mausoleum. Rev. Joe Vernon will officiate. Friends may visit the family on Thursday evening from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
