Mrs. Mary Howard Whatley, age 65, of Griffin, GA passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2015 surrounded by her loved ones.

Mrs. Whatley was born in Griffin, Georgia, on March 8, 1950 to the late Clarence and Willie Mae Howard. She was also preceded in death by her husband Douglas Whatley, Jr.; sisters, Ruth Dumas and Sara Hattie Reid; and brothers, Bobby Howard and Willie Howard.

Mary was a loving and hardworking mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She loved working in her garden planting flowers. Mary graduated from Fairmont High School in 1968. She was employed at Dundee Mills and Cooper Standard for numerous years.

Survivors include children, Millicent Whatley (Lamar), Cody Whatley and Kimberly Whatley; grandchildren, Nicoria Leaks, Lameira McGhee, Zykeriah Moore, Samori Richards and Kasmir Whatley; great-grandchild, Tyron Duffey, Jr.; sisters, Ruby Williams and Martha Mathews; father-in-law Douglas Whatley, Sr.; brothers-in-law, David Dumas and Calvin Whatley; sisters-in-law, Naomi Stroud, Martha Harris, Geraldine Whatley, Loretta Whatley, Josephine Allen and Dorthy Corbin; special caregiver Tammy Miller; and a host of nieces and nephews.
