Mrs. Mary Martile Wright, age 91, of Jackson, GA, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Brightmoor Hospice.
Mrs. Wright was born in Jackson on June 2, 1922 to the late Rastus Knowles and the late Daisy Victoria Wilson Knowles. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Humphrey Wright; son, Jeffrey Wright. She was the youngest daughter of eleven children. Mrs. Wright was a member of Teamon Baptist Church. She also loved to garden and can for the whole family and was known for her canned tomatoes. Up through 2006 she still canned over 300 jars for her family. Mrs. Wright loved the outdoors. She relocated from Atlanta to Griffin in the 1970’s.
Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Charlotte “Vicki” and Bill Blount of Palmetto, Mary “Ellen” McMichael of Griffin; grandchildren, Michael Boone and wife, Janet, Al Blount and wife, Tracey, Ian Wright, Elise Wright; great grandchildren Grant and Garrett Boone; former daughter-in-law Beth Killingsworth and husband, Warren.
