Mrs. Matilde Zayas Morales , age 81 of Mission Trace Drive in St. Marys passed away late morning on Monday, November 26th, 2012 at Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick, Ga.
Mrs. Morales was born on March 5th, 1931 in Barranquita, Puerto Rico. She is the daughter of the late Primativo and Modesta Zayas Morales. Mrs. Morales was a dutiful mother and wife. She worked as a cook in Puerto Rico for a time, and later worked in the button and jewelry manufacturing industries.
She loved to go to church. Mrs. Morales attended the Church of Revival in Kingsland for over 5 years and cherished the fellowship with other Christians there. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Mrs. Morales is survived by her daughter and her husband, Sandra Lozada and Angel Galarza of St. Marys; her son and his wife, Ezquiel Morales and Shirley Fields of Alabama; her brother, Manuel Morales in Puerto Rico; and her grandchildren, Angel and Daniel Galarza.
A celebration of Mrs. Morales’ life will be held at 7 PM Friday, November 30th, 2012 in Wainwright Chapel at the funeral home with Dr. Jimmy Diaz, Rev. Angel Galarza and Brother Julio Alvarez speaking.
