Mattie Ritchie

Mrs. Ritchie was born on March 9, 1933 in Possum Ridge, MS to the late Henry Ulysses Hearn and the late Martha Scallions Hearn. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Milton Eugene Ritchie, daughter, Carol Ann Ritchie, grandchild, Stevie Fuller, 6 brothers and 6 sisters. Mrs. Ritchie was a seamstress for many years having worked for Signal Mills and Fashion Industries. “Mat” was a volunteer coach at City Park; she also volunteered at the Christian Women’s Center and the local Food Pantry.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Milton and Lynn Ritchie of Griffin, James and Mattie Ritchie of Thomaston, Tony and Lauren Ritchie of Villa Rica; daughter and son-in-law, Jean and Tim Ledbetter of Griffin; grandchildren, James Ritchie Jr., Scott Ritchie, Wendy Ritchie and Jennifer Lively; great grandchildren, Karl Ritchie, Trenton Watson, Kadie and Travis Fuller; brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John David Hearn of Columbus, GA; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mattie Ritchie will be conducted on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Ringgold Baptist Church. Reverend Mark James will officiate. Entombment will follow in Westwood Mausoleum. Friends may visit the family Monday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
