June 8, 1925 – September 27, 2016
Papi, age 92, was born in Viñales Pinar del Rio, Cuba on June 8, 1925. He was the sixth of eight children.
Thanks to the hard work of brothers like Juan Ascui he learned the truth and was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on April 12, 1943.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Andrea, and is survived by his sons and daughters in law: Medardo Jr. and Mae; Eliezer and Minerva; daughter Olidia and son in law, Juan. One brother: Fernando Rivera. He cherished his grandchildren Nataly, Nicole, Eliezer Jr., Thalia, Randy, Jonathon and Benjamin, four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
Along the way, even thru times of infirmity he was always encouraging to those around him. He would speak about the Kingdom and the blessings it will bring. His kindness won him the love and affection of a multitude of spiritual brothers and sisters. We will always remember his faithful example as we cherish memories of Papi in our hearts. May Jehovah, our Heavenly Father, remember him soon in the resurrection.

Gracias al arduo trabajo de Juan Ascui y otros hermanos, conocio la verdad y se bautizo el 12 de abril de 1943 como Testigo de Jehova.
A Papi le precede su esposa Andrea y le sobreviven sus hijos y nueras: Medardo Jr. y Mae, Eliezer y Minerva, su hija y yerno, Olidia y Juan. Disfruto de sus nietos: Nataly, Nicole, Eliezer Jr., Thalia, Randy, Jonathan y Benjamin. Un hermano: Fernando Rivera. También compartió con sus cuatro bisnietos al igual que sus queridos sobrinos y sobrinas.
Através del tiempo, aun durante los periodos de enfermedad siempre sirvió de estimulo para los que estuvimos a su alrededor. Nos recordaba del Reino y las bendiciones que este traerá. Su sonrisa y amabilidad le gano el cariño y afecto de una multitud de hermanos espirituales. Siempre recordaremos su fiel ejemplo mientras atesoramos recuerdos de Papi en nuestros corazones. Que Jehova, nuestro padre de tiernas misericordia, le recuerde pronto en la resurreccion.
