Ms. Melissa Marie Nelson , age 41, passed away Thursday, November 8th, 2018 at her home in St. Mary’s, Ga.
Ms. Nelson was born on January 23rd, 1977 in Carlisle, PA. to James and Carol Martin Nelson. She attended public schools in both Carlisle and Kingsland, GA. She later furthered her education and became a Medical Assistant. She also worked at Steffens Restaurant for over 20 years. Her family shares, “She was a very hardworking and caring person that would do anything to help others. She enjoyed surrounding herself with her family and friends. Her children are what drove her to grow and be the loving, happy, and caring person people saw her for. She loved hard and was always able to put a smile on everyone’s face. She dedicated her life to her family to ensure they lived a better life than she felt she lived. If we all lived and cared for people the way she did, the world would be a brighter place.”
Ms. Nelson is survived by her husband of 16 years, Ruben Hutchinson, and their four children, Hakeim Hutchinson, Shaun Hutchinson, Mariah Hutchinson, and Devin Hutchinson of Woodbine, GA.; her sister, Melinda Jackson (Wilson) of Pennsylvania; her brothers, Jim Nelson (Jennifer) & Jeff Nelson (Shelby), all of Pennsylvania; and her aunt, Karen Gillespie. She also is survived by her parents, Carol and James Nelson (Amelia); and her Special friends, Vikki Wilson and Stacie Hershaw.
A visitation will be held from 11am to 1pm on Tuesday, November 13 th , 2018 at Coastal Camden Funeral Home in Kingsland, GA. Funeral services will follow at 3pm at the Refreshing Oasis Church in Kingsland, Ga. with Pastor Mack De’Von Knight presiding.
