Mr. Michael Patrick Carroll, age 73 of Kingsland, Ga. passed away in the early morning hours of Sunday, July 3rd, 2022 in Brunswick, Ga.
Mr. Carroll was born October 28th, 1948 in Philadelphia, Pa. to the late Henry C. Carroll, Jr. and Anna (Dougherty) Carroll. Michael Carroll was a beloved father who worked his whole life to provide the best for his family. He was always quick with wisdom you could write down and know it would be valuable later. He served his country for 22 years in the United States Navy, retiring in 1989 as Chief Petty Officer. He bestowed his love for his country on his son, Patrick, who also followed him into the Navy and retired as a Chief, as well. His love for military history inspired his daughter, Jennifer to pursue that same interest in her college studies.
Michael lived a special and fulfilled life in his 73 years. In his younger days, he dreamed of taking to the skies. He obtained his pilot’s license and enjoyed flying small aircraft around the Hawaiian Islands, taking in all the natural beauty. He enjoyed fixing small things, although the air would be clouded with a blanket of choice words, as he did repairs. He had three beautiful grandchildren that he loved more than life itself. After retiring, he moved closer to his two youngest grandchildren to spend time with them and pass along his wisdom. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends. He leaves a hole in their hearts that they will fill with beautiful memories. Now he is flying with the angels and taking in the world’s beauty.
Mr. Carroll is survived by his children, Jennifer Carroll and Patrick Carroll, along with his wife Mary, both of Kingsland, Ga.; his grandchildren, Ian Foust of Stafford, Va., Conlin and Keegan Carroll, both of Kingsland, Ga.; his sisters, Susanne (John) Bell, Kathleen Bennett, Warren and Barbara (Carroll) Crescenzo, Mary Ann Franks; and his brother, Joseph Carroll.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Carroll was preceded in passing by his beloved wife, Judith Killoran Carroll, his brothers-in-law, Christopher Bennett & Harold Franks, and his sister, Anna Marie Carroll.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date by the family.
