Edward “Eddie” Franklin Rawl, Sr., 87 passed away peacefully in his home after an extended illness on the morning of December 19,2023 surrounded by his family.
He was born in Lexington, South Carolina to George Franklin Rawl and Frances Alene Addy Rawl.
He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Frances Rawl and his loving wife, Mary Jane Townsend Rawl. They would have celebrated 66 years of marriage on Christmas Eve, December 24,2023. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Michael Eugene Rawl.
Three children were blessed to call him Daddy. They are Karen Daniels of Woodbine, Edward Rawl of Woodbine and Cindy (Travis) Flowers of Hortense.

He also leaves to cherish his memory Jan Williamson, Barbara Kahler and numerous nieces and nephews and other family members. He was a Husband, Daddy, Papa, Son, Brother, Uncle, Pastor, Friend to many who loved and knew him.
Mr. Rawl attended Camden County School system and was on the first Camden County High School football team when they were the Camden County Hurricanes.
A true salesman for Pecans, Candy and Souvenirs he owned and operated along side his wife, shops in Georgia and one in South Carolina. Pecan candies and nuts were shipped out all across the United States.
He served on the Woodbine City Council from 1974-1980.
He gave his life to the Lord in the early 1970’s and became a salesman for His Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He loved telling people about His Jesus andtook every opportunity to do so. He ministered to his customers, employees, people he met in the store. He told his nurses, doctors and anyone who visited him about His Jesus.
He was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church of Woodbine where he taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, served the Lord in varies areas, ordained as a deacon and later ordained into the ministry. He served as minister to the Camden County Jail where he held services every Sunday morning for four years for any inmates that wished to come. When he received the callto become a pastor, He served several churches in Camden County over the years including Forest View Baptist Church and Friendship Baptist Church and alsofilled pulpits as needed when called upon. He was presently serving in the Folkston Methodist circuitchurches which were Bethel, Prospect, Traders Hill and Providence for the past 18 years.
He enjoyed and loved his big family and having them around him was one of his greatest joys. He loved to have family meals around the table and one of his favorite foods was BBQ!

Services will be held on Friday, December 22,2023 at First Baptist Church of Woodbine. Rev. James Roberson will perform the service. Visitation will be at 10:00am and Services to follow at 11:00am. Intermentfollowing at Colesburg Cemetery.
