Ms. Patricia Louise Essex, age 89 of Kingsland, Ga., passed peacefully on the morning of Thursday, March 27th, 2025 at Lakes Crossing Senior Living in Kingsland, Ga.
Ms. Essex was born on December 4th, 1935 in Franklin Co., Ky. She was the oldest of four children born to Ralph E. and Frances A. Curry and was of Baptist Faith. As a child, she was raised on the family farm and after graduating from Peaksmill High School, she moved to the big city of Frankfort, Ky. and went to work at JC Penny Department Store. She then went on to work as a secretary and retired after 20 years at Tampa Eye Clinic in Tampa, Fl.
She enjoyed playing the piano and organ and had the prettiest flowers in her neighborhood. In fact when she moved to Kingsland in 2008 her son-in-law, John, had to take a cargo trailer to her house and move every potted plant she had to Kingsland with her. In 2019 she went to reside at Lakes Crossing in their memory care unit where she adopted the nicknames of “Ms. Trish” and “The Supervisor”.
Ms. Essex is survived by her sister, Linda Carol Crupper of Florence, Ky., her daughter, Cindy (John) Herring of Kingsland, Ga.; her son, Larry (Yvonne) Karsner of Owenton., Ky.; her grandchildren, Ryan Gillespie, Kerri Gillespie, and Brandy (Bill) Hasss, all of Kingsland, Ga., Bryan Herring of St. Mary's, Ga., Brian Karsner of Campbellsville, Ky. and Cindy (Dusty) Hensley of Owenton, Ky.; and her great-grandchildren, Madison (Jesse) Dies, Hunter Burtz, and Morgan Burtz, all of Kingsland, Ga., Alyssa Karsner of Georgetown, Ky., Brantley Karsner of Campbellsville, Ky., Clayton and Tennyson (Samantha) Hensley of Owenton, Ky.; and 4 great great grandchildren; and one nephew, Mark Crupper of Crittendon, Ky.
