Mr. Paul Varnadoe, Jr. age 87, of Griffin passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Dream Catchers Assisted Living in Jackson, GA.
Mr. Varnadoe was born on August 30, 1926 in Lumber City, GA to the late Paul A. Varnadoe Sr. and the late Naomi Allen Varnadoe. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mae Belle Davis Varnadoe; son, Stanley Varnadoe brothers, Simmie, Robert and Roger Varnadoe; sister, Mary Lilly Varnadoe. Mr. Varnadoe was a self- employed carpenter and a United States Navy Veteran having served in World War II.
Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Warren and Donna Varnadoe, Bill and Carolynn Varnadoe of Griffin, Preston and Gayle Varnadoe of Locust Grove, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Steve Young; 10 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; brothers and sister-in-law, Jeff and Judy Varnadoe of Fayetteville, NC, Morris Varnadoe of Senoia; sisters and brother-in-law, Myrtle Jones, Josie Godard, Carrie and Kenneth Butler, all of Griffin; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services for Mr. Paul Varnadoe, Jr. will be conducted on Sunday November 3, 2013 at 3 pm in First Baptist Church of Sunny Side cemetery. Reverend John Nance will officiate. Friends may visit with the family following the service.
