Pauline Bendino

April 1, 1949 — January 3, 2017

Ms. Pauline Mary Trombley Bendino , age 67 of Kingsland, Ga. passed away unexpectley at her residence on Tuesday, January 3 rd , 2017.
Ms. Bendino was born in Clinton, New York on April 1 st , 1949. She is the daughter of the late Mary Irwin & Leon Trombley.
Pauline will be best remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She was initially married to Albert (Al) Rabideau with whom she had her three children Stephanie, Albert Jr. (George), and Beverly.  Al and Pauline enjoyed numerous outdoor activities with their children that ranged from horseback riding, and camping, to snowmobile trail riding.  You would never know it by her petite size, but in her younger days, Pauline enjoyed driving in demolition derbies just as much as Al did!  Their family and friends had a real zest for life and the outdoors.  Unfortunately their marriage ended in divorce in 1979 and Pauline later married Rocco (Rocky) Bendino in April of 1992.  She shared Rocky’s enthusiasm for harness horse racing in Saratoga Springs, NY as well as numerous country music events that he was involved with in the region. The couple spent summers camping and boating at Lake Sacandaga.  Rocky preceded her in death as he passed away in January of 1999.  Her first husband Al also preceded her in death in January of 2007.
The joy of Pauline’s (affectionately known as Grams) later life was truly derived from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Her daughter Stephanie was the first to marry in 1988 while her husband served in the U.S. Navy’s Submarine Service.  As they had the first two of her many grandchildren, the entire family unit stayed very close which ultimately resulted in George, Beverly, and Pauline relocating to Camden County, GA.  Grams spent a lot of time loving and caring for her grandchildren and eventually their children.  Her devotion ranged from greeting some at the bus stop every day after school to staying for weeks at a time to help with the young babies.  For nearly two years she lived with George and Tina while helping to care for her great-grandson Malaki who gave her the nickname of “Bobbie.” Her absolute favorite time of the year was Christmas.  She loved decorating her home, enjoying all of the reasons for the season, and blessing her loved ones with gifts that were truly tokens of her passionate feelings.
Pauline spent her working life as a nursing assistant providing care for those who could no longer care for themselves.  She was a hard worker in both her professional and personal life.  If she wasn’t taking care of someone, she didn’t feel like she was living.  Her health took a sudden and unexpected turn for the worse in September of 2015 when she suffered serious internal issues resulting in her entire colon having to be removed.  Her condition was so severe that the doctors did not expect her to live, but by the will of God and an undying inner strength, she was able to overcome the dire medical condition.  As if this experience wasn’t bad enough, the news that came next shook her entirely family, she had cancer.  God had granted her more time to live, so through the difficult treatment cycles of chemotherapy Grams celebrated many more occasions with her family.  Her great-grandchildren’s birthday parties she couldn’t miss, two Thanksgiving and Christmas celebrations, a wonderful Mother’s Day weekend at Walt Disney World, and every family get together she made special.  In the end she had such weakness because her bones became so weak that she had five broken vertebrae.  She couldn’t be the same Grams that she loved being and God called her home unexpectedly on January 3 rd , her granddaughter Alana’s birthday.  She has now been taken out of the suffering and experiencing no more pain!  Her family is convinced that she is helping God prepare a special place for all of her loved ones to join her one day.  What a joyous day that will be!
Ms. Bendino is survived by her children, Stephanie Williams & her husband, Greg of Palm Coast, Fl., George Rabideau & his wife, Tina and Beverly Rabideau, all of Kingsland, Ga.; her sisters, Marie Maggy of Morrisonville, NY and Janet St. John of Houlton, Me.; her brothers Ronnie Trombley of Plattsburgh, NY, Jerry Trombley of Virginia, and Gordon Trombley of Albany, GA; her grandchildren, Alan & his wife.
