Phillip Carter

Mr. Phillip Monroe Carter, age 76, passed away on the morning of Sunday, August 10 ^th , 2025 at his home in Woodbine, Ga.

Mr. Carter was born on March 2 ^nd , 1949 in Colesburg, Ga. to the late William Thomas “Buster” Carter and Jannie Betty Carter.

Phillip Carter was full of life and fun spirited from a young boy until his last days. Phillip started working at a young age, working places such as Buchanan’s Store and Rawl’s Store. He then settled in a career at Cabin Bluff. Phillip would always say it was never work. He would tell of pranks and stories, “like the one about the alligator” no matter how many times he told it he would laugh every time. He loves his career as a hunting guide and meeting people from all over the world. While working he became a wonderful father of two children. Nothing filled his heart more than his son and daughter. A lot of people knew him as Coach Phillip, from his time coaching his children's baseball team. He worked almost 30 years and retired from a career he adored. Phillip was always one to cut up and joke around. He lived to make everyone around him laugh and smile. He was such a fine loving person. After enjoying retirement a while, Phillip was blessed with his grandbabies. He has taught them how to ride a bike, throw a ball and even drive. His grandchildren would say it was always an adventure from fishing trips to skipping school. Once being diagnosed with leukemia, he never lost his love for life and God. He was very secure in his faith, Always talking about how blessed he was and where he was going. He lived his last eight and a half months with his son Devon. He loved every moment spent with Devon, Robbie, and his grandchildren. He would say there was never a dull moment and he wouldn't change a thing about it. He brought so much love to their home. He loved sitting on the porch singing, watching his birds eat, watching NCIS and talking Braves baseball to his sister, Debbie. He would say he was living his best life. Phillip Carter was a loving brother, father, uncle, and papa. His love of life and laughter will forever live in everyone he met.

Mr. Carter is survived by his children, Amber Carter of Brunswick, Ga. and Devon (Robbie) Carter of Woodbine, Ga.; his sister, Deborah Peeples of Kingsland, Ga.; his brother, Wiley Daniels, Sr. of Woodbine, Ga.; and his grandchildren, Korbin Chesser, Lynzi Carter, Carter Chesser, Lillian “Sibye” Carter, Kylee Gritzner, Carlos Webster, Aklises Hayes, and T.K Bailey.

Besides his parents, Mr. Carter was also preceded in death by his brother, George “Murphy” Carter.

A visitation will be from 6 pm to 8 pm Wednesday, August 13 ^th , 2025 at Coastal Camden Funeral Home in Kingsland, Ga. Funeral Services will be at 10 am Thursday, August 14 ^th , 2025 at Forest View Baptist Church in Woodbine, Ga. with Pastor Jody Davis presiding. Interment will follow at Colesburg Cemetery in Woodbine, Ga.

Coastal Camden Funeral Home in Kingsland, Ga. is entrusted with Mr. Carter’s arrangements.
