Phyllis Goss

Mrs. Phyllis Sanders Goss, age 79, of Griffin, GA, passed away on Monday, February 17, 2014 at her residence.

Mrs. Goss was born on April 20, 1934 in Griffin, GA to the late Carlton Sanders and the late Ruby Foster Sanders. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Jackie Sanders Smith. Mrs. Goss was a wonderful mother and memaw. She was a member of Second Baptist Church in Griffin, where she taught the kindergarten class for many years. Mrs. Goss retired from the position of financial secretary for Second Baptist after more than 25 years of service.

Mrs. Goss is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Robert A. Goss; daughters and sons-in-law, Kay and Scott Weller of High Falls, Teresa and Joel Bennett of Griffin; grandchildren, Chad (Amanda) Bennett of Hazelton, PA; Clay (Katie) Bennett of Brooks, GA, Elizabeth (KC) Eidson of Griffin; great grandchildren, Hayden, Gracie, and Lola Bennett, Alex and Madison Eidson; many nieces, nephews, and cousins, including Donna Williams and Nancy Banks; special friend, Dean Carden.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Phyllis Goss will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2014 at 2pm in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home. Dr. Ed S. Hoard and Pastor Chad Bennett will officiate. Interment will follow in Westwood Gardens. Friends may visit the family on Wednesday evening from 6pm-8pm and on Thursday from 1pm until the service hour at the funeral home.
