Ralph Knox

March 8, 1960 — April 28, 2021

Mr. Ralph Julian Knox Jr. “Buddy,” age 61, passed away on the afternoon of Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at his home in Kingsland Georgia.

Buddy was born in the Chicagoland area on March 8th, 1960 to Mary Katherine Cansler Knox, Ralph Julian Knox Sr.

Starting at the age of 10, Buddy was a self-taught musician with a love of playing the drums and singing. His love of country music and passion for the drums led to a lifelong career playing in many different bands. He taught his daughter from a very young age what real country music was. They enjoyed listening to country music and singing together in the car. He knew many musicians as well, and everywhere he went, if there was music playing, there was a chance he knew the band. This always resulted in “come on up and play with us Bud''. When he wasn’t playing music, his passion was NASCAR. He was an avid fan of Dale Earnhardt Sr. and never missed a race. Chances are if you called him on race day, he’d have to call you back, because the race was on. Buddy also loved his Harley Davidson Motorcycle, and drove it whenever he had the chance. His love of cars and fixing them was also a hobby, and you could never leave his driveway without him checking the oil or making sure the tires were good.

Buddy is survived by his daughter Christina Flannery and her husband Nathan Flannery. He is also survived by his grandchildren Julia and Maddux Flannery, and former spouse Gabriela Knox.
Buddy is also survived by his 5 siblings: Jack Knox and wife Billie Ann of Niota, TN, Joe Knox and wife Zella Faye of Niota, TN, Linda Duff of Kingston, TN, Eva Williams and husband Steve of Greenville, TX, and Kathy Peterson of Kingsland GA.

Other surviving family members include 26 nieces and nephews, 31 great nieces and nephews, and 28 great-great nieces and nephews.

Buddy was preceded in death by his parents Ralph Julian Knox Sr. and Mary Katherine Cansler Knox. He was also preceded by his sister Carolene Weaver, niece Vanessa Knox Coleman and nephews Michael Weaver and Bobby Knox.

A celebration of life for Buddy will be held this Saturday, May 1st at Casey’s Hideaway in Yulee, FL at 7:00 p.m. for anybody that would like to attend.
