Ralph Stansel

Mr. Ralph Wayne Stansel, born May 18th, 1947, died at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick, Ga. on Saturday, April 15th, 2023.

He is survived by his wife, Martha A. Taylor Stansel of Kingsland, Ga.; his sister, Shirley (Sony) Gardner of Jacksonville, Fl.; his daughters, Martha (Genny) Stansel, and Rachel Hower, all of Jacksonville, Fl., Stephanie (Michael) Jordan of Kissimmie, Fl., Melissa (Charlie) Davis of Douglasville, Ga., Hope (Jamie) Whelchel of LaGrange, Ga., Crystal (Jeff) Griffin and Suni Taylor, all of Kingsland, Ga.; his grandchildren, Jamie Timmons, Jason Timmons, Jared Hower, Bradley Jordan, Gabriel Griffin, Lance Griffin, Holly (Cameron) Witter, Michael Bowman, Jamie Whelchel Jr., Dylan (Ally) Whelchel; his great-grandchildren, Sylas Kenneth Griffin, Ester Rose Griffin, and Scarlett Lynn Whelchel.

Mr. Stansel was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Pearl Stansel; his brothers, Jack Stansel, Ed Stansel, Howard Jordan, and Paul Stansel; and his wife, Ester Mae Stansel.

Ralph joined the Navy at age 17 and served 21 years stationed in Japan, Rota Spain, Virginia, Jacksonville, Fl. Ralph was a machinist in Jacksonville, Fl. until he retired 13 years ago and became a Gentleman Farmer in Sanderson, Fl.
Ralph has lived in Kingsland for the past 10 years. He was a member of Kingsland United Methodist Church, serving with the Food Pantry and on the planning committee. He was a member of the Crusaders Sunday School Class.

A visitation will be held from 10 am to 11 am Monday, April 24th, 2023 in the Old Sanctuary of the Kingsland First United Methodist Church. Funeral Services will begin at 11 am at the church. Interment will follow at Lawnwood Cemetery in Kingsland, Ga.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Herman Levy, Daniele Kimmel, Linda Strayer, Kelly (I love you) Hanna.

In lieu of flowers, the family requestions donations in Ralph’s name be made to the Kingsland Methodist Church Youth Programs.
