Mr. Ray Kytle Keen, age 88 of Kingsland, Georgia passed away on the evening of Friday, August 14th, 2020 at Southeast Georgia Health System in St. Marys, Georgia.
Mr. Keen was born on March 18th, 1932 in Abbeville, GA to the late Paul and Irma (Bowman) Keen.
Mr. Keen was a Korean Army veteran. Camden County became his home in 1961, when he moved here to begin his career with the Kraft Bag Plant as a machinist. Mr. Keen retired from Kraft Bag Plant after twenty seven years. He was a long time and active member of the Baptist Purity Church. He loved filling his days with gardening, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed sharing his love for Christ with everyone he was around.
Mr. Keen is survived by his children, Sharon Keen of Woodbine, GA and Franklin Keen of Yulee, FL.; his grandchildren, Ashley (Adam) Roush of Yulee, FL, Joseph (Tripp) Trey, III of St. Simons Island, GA., Joshua Trey of St. Marys, GA., Jason (Mandi) Keen of Yulee, FL, and Wesley Keen of Yulee, FL.; and his great-grandchildren, Ryan Trey, Aaron Roush, MaryLove Trey, Hannah Trey, Cason Keen, Sam Trey, and Brysen Keen; his brothers, Charlie (Marion) Keen of Cochran, GA, Bobby (Nell) Keen of Pineview, GA, Jake (Linda) Keen, Eddie (Charlotte) Keen, Wade (Mary Jo) Keen, and Andrew (Sheila) Keen, all of Abbeville, GA; the mother of his children Joyce Keen of Yulee, FL; his step-children Edna (Dominic) Giglio, Eddie Collins, and Ronnie (Dolly) Collins, 14 step-grandchildren, 18 step great-grandchildren, and 9 step great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Besides his parents, Mr. Keen was also preceded in passing by his wife, Charlene Herring Keen, and his sister, Rheba Smith.
A Graveside Service for Mr. Keen will be held at 3 pm on Tuesday, August 18th, 2020 at Siloam Baptist Church Cemetery in Abbeville, Ga. Pastors Bobby Hires and Richard Joyner will be presiding over the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Mr. Keen’s name to the Hospice of the Golden Isles, 1692 Glynco Parkway Brunswick, Ga 31525.
