June 29, 1940 — March 25, 2017

Mr. Ray Windel Ward, Sr ., age 76, of Kingsland, GA went to be with the Lord on the afternoon of Saturday, March 25, 2017 at Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick, GA.
Mr. Ward was born on July 29 th , 1940 in Hazelhurst, GA to the late James and Addie Ward.
Mr. Ward graduated from Savannah High School. After high school, he served his country in the US Coast Guard.   He was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and being outdoors. He loved his family & friends especially Arron Kirkland, who stood by his side. His grandchildren and great grandchildren made his day. He loved his church, The Harbor Worship Center and enjoyed posting Morning Seed from the Harbor Worship Center Sower. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Mr. Ward is survived by his sons, Windel (Gina) Ward of Kingsland, GA, Nicky (Kay) Powell of Rincon, GA, Jay (Nancy) Powell of Columbus, GA and Terry Powell of Brunswick, GA; his son in law Wayne Pinegar of Donaldsonville, GA; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his former wives, Diane Bruce Rowland and Johnny Ward.
Besides his parents, Mr. Ward joins his daughters, Dianna Larae Ward Pinegar and Maryann Powell, his son, Henry Buddy Powell; his sister, Ernestine Johnson; and his brothers, Virgil, Paul, and Frankie Ward in Heaven.
A memorial service for Mr. Ward will be held at 6 PM Thursday, March 30 th , 2017 at the Harbor Worship Center in Kingsland, GA with Pastor Josh Cribbs presiding.
