It is with profound sadness that the family of Richard Arthur Bowen “Rick” announces his peaceful passing on July 31 at the age of 67. Richard was surrounded by his family in Saint Mary’s, Georgia.
Richard was born in Charleston, South Carolina. He was preceded in death by his Father Henry Dow Bowen, Grandparents Arthur Bowen and Jennie Bowen, Zach and Nora Smith.
He is survived by and will be lovingly remembered by his Mother Irene Bowen, Brother Robert Bowen, (Patricia Bowen) Sister Susan Moore, Nephews and Nieces Christopher Hooks, Jennie Corse, Dana Bacon, Brittany Loper and Christopher Bowen.
After serving in the U.S. Army. He worked as a Tig welder, later as a entertainment coordinator in Jacksonville,Florida. He moved to Kingsland Georgia to be with family and worked in hotel management. He loved people and always loved finding out the story of others. His favorite past time was sports with his favorite team Florida Gators and the Jacksonville Jaguars. He loved the Atlanta braves. His favorite past time was visiting his mother daily and visiting with all of his family. His nieces and nephews were his joy. He accepted Jesus Christ as his savior.
The Celebration of life services will be held on Friday, August 5, 5: 00 p.m. at the Harbor Worship Center 140 Colerain Road, Kingsland, Ga. With a private ceremony at the Jacksonville National Cemetery on Friday August, 12,2022 at 11:00 am.
