Richard Buerkle

March 24, 1935 — May 27, 2019

Richard Carl Buerkle , age 84, of Kingsland, Georgia was called home on May 27, 2019.  He was the son of the late Luering H. and Alberta Mae Buerkle.  He was born in Dayton Ohio and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana.  He graduated from Howe High School and completed his collegiate degree from Ohio Wesleyan University in Parks and Recreation.  He joined the military after graduation from college where he served as Captain in the US Air Force. He became a navigator for the 91 st Refueling Squadron.  After serving in the military he started his career as a Park and Recreation Director.  He was employed in the following communities: Pekin, Illinois, St. Charles, Illinois, Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.  Then at the age of 52 he changed professions and became an “Innkeeper”.  He retired in 2008 and moved to Georgia to be closer to his family.

Buerkle is survived by his wife: H. “Dolly” Buerkle, Kingsland, GA,; son:
William (Karen) Buerkle, Charleston, SC, son: Robert (Sherri) Buerkle,
Albuquerque, NM, daughter: Kay Lynn (John) Sims, Callahan, FL and son: Brad
(Lesley) Buerkle, Kingsland, GA.



He
has seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.



A Memorial
Service will be at 10:00 am on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at the Jacksonville
National Cemetery 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, Florida



Coastal
Camden Funeral Home from Kingsland, Georgia will oversee arrangements.
