Rickey Prestridge

Mr. Rickey Gene Prestridge , age 54 of St. Marys, Ga. passed away unexpectedly Friday, July 20th, 2012 at his brother’s residence.
Mr. Prestridge was born in a suburb of Houston, Texas on April 17th, 1958. He is the son of the late Peerless Calvin and Dorothy Croxton Prestridge. Mr. Prestridge was a concrete mason. His great nephew Christian said of him, “My Great Uncle Ricky passed away today. For the short time I knew him he was a good man and someone you could hold a conversation with and he would actually listen to what you had to say. He always wanted to know how my football was going, and he’d always give me pointers on how to improve my game and give me advice on the way to live life and be happy. He is in a better place where nothing can hurt him now. I know he’ll always be looking down on my family and me just smiling. I wish I could see him one more time. Rest In Peace, Great Uncle Rickey Prestridge. I love you.” He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him best.
Mr. Prestridge is survived by his sons, Jason and Garrett Prestridge, and Brent Towns, all of Houston, Texas; his brother and sister in law, Wayman V. and Merrie Prestridge of St. Marys; his nephews, David Prestridge and his family of Hawaii and Billy, Rickey and Steven Prestridge and his family of St Marys.
Besides his parents, Mr. Prestridge was preceded in passing by his wife, Susan Mancha Prestridge in September, 2011.
Mr. Prestridge’s interment will be held at a later date in Katy, Texas.
