Robert Deason

Mr. Robert V. Deason, age 74, of Griffin passed away on Monday, November 4, 2013 at Spalding Regional Hospital.

Mr. Deason was born on December 24, 1939 in Ellaville, GA to the late Monroe Cranford Deason and the late Margaret Dinkins Deason. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Quita Standard Deason. Mr. Deason retired from Yellow Freight where he was employed as a truck driver for over 20 years. He was a former member of Teamon Baptist Church for over 40 years and was a current member of Second Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Cindy Ballard Deason; son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Allison Deason of Griffin; daughter and son-in-law, Deena and Dr. Tim Jones of Columbus; grandchildren, Garrett, Abigail, Alex, and Julianna; sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Jackie Floyd of Griffin; brother, H.L. Deason of Alabama; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Robert V. Deason will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Griffin, GA. Reverend Tommy Reeves, Dr Tim Jones and Reverend Fred Thompson will officiate. Interment will follow in Teamon Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may visit the family this evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. The members of the Christian Friends Sunday School Class are asked to sit together.
