Mr. Robert A. Goss, age 81, of Griffin, passed away Monday, November 23, 2015 at Eternal Hope Hospice.
Mr. Goss was born in Griffin on November 29, 1933 to the late James Andrew and Linnie Mae Jones Goss. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Phyllis Sanders Goss; sisters, Frances McGuffey, Sara Jimerson, and Faye Miley; and sister-in-law, Jackie Sanders Smith.
Mr. Goss served his country in the U S Army. He had been employed by Randall and Blakely Ford and was the owner of Bob’s Auto Service. He retired from United Parcel Service. Mr. Goss loved NASCAR and fishing.
Mr. Goss is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Kay and Scott Weller, and Teresa and Joel Bennett; grandchildren, Chad and Amanda Bennett, Clay and Katie Bennett and Elizabeth and KC Eidson; great grandchildren, Hayden, Gracie and Charlotte Bennett, Alex and Madison Eidson, and Lola Claire Bennett; sisters and brother-in-law, Roberta Miley, and Judy and Charlie Hicks; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit the family at the funeral home on Friday, November 27, 2015 from 2:00 pm to 3:30 p.m. Immediately following the visitation, a graveside funeral service will be held at Westwood Gardens. His grandson Pastor Chad Bennett will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Raceway Ministries Atlanta, Post Office Box 143, Hampton, Georgia 30228, racewayministriesatlanta.org. in memory of Mr. Goss. The family would like to thank Eternal Hope Hospice for their kindness and loving care.
