Mr. Robert Paul Watson , 63 of Kingsland passed away at the VA Medical Center in Gainesville, Fl. Thursday, November 18th, 2010.
Mr. Watson was born in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania on April 21st, 1947. He is the son of the late Francis J. and Marian Griffith Watson. Mr. Watson was a member of the US Army, joining in March 1965. He became a member of the 101st Airborne and attained the rank of Sergeant. Mr. Watson proudly served in Vietnam, where he received his combat infantry badge and a purple heart. He was an avid Phillies fan, liked watching James Cagney movies and loved to travel. He will be truly missed by all his family and friends.
Mr. Watson is survived by his beloved wife, Lori Watson of Kingsland; his children, Natalie Watson of Kingsland, Tonya Mannina in Oklahoma, Dana (Brian) Herlisy in California and Shawn Cooley of Kingsland; his sister Joan (Webster) Bell in Delaware; and his grandchildren, Chloe Mannina, Sierra Collins and Dana Rayel.
Services for Mr. Watson will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, November 27th, 2010 in the Wainwright Chapel at the funeral home with Father Gabe Cummings presiding. Honorary pallbearers will be the Camden County Elks, the Camden County VFW and the Purple Heart Club. Interment will follow Monday, November 29th, 2010 in the Jacksonville National Cemetery at 10:30 AM with military honors.
