Roberta Aripez

August 24, 1944 — June 30, 2010

Roberta Ann Hood Aripez , 65, of St. Marys, passed away unexpectedly.
Mrs. Aripez was born August 24th, 1944 in Berlin, New Hampshire. She is the daughter of the late Ralph Otis and Virginia Goodnow Hood. Mrs. Aripez was a graduate of Berlin High School in 1962. While attending, she was very active in cheerleading and had many school interests. She later met Paul Don Aripez and they were married at the Bates College Chapel in Lewiston, ME. in February of 1978. Bobbie, as she was known, spent 21 years with Paul and their two children, Donna Lynn and Eric Paul Carlos, as a Navy wife, traveling to many places in the US and spending four years in Puerto Rico. There they shared the many joys of the isles and the Caribbean, which included sailing, jet skiing and scuba diving. She worked as an executive secretary for civilian and civil service for many years, later becoming a homemaker and most recently working locally at Wal-Mart for about eight years. She enjoyed traveling and going to the ocean with her family and friends. Bobbie was loved by all who knew her. She had a heart of gold and had complete love for all. She was God’s angel and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Mrs. Aripez is survived by her beloved husband and best friend, Paul D Aripez of St. Marys; her son, Eric Paul Carlos Aripez of St. Marys; her daughter, Donna Lynn Recker of Jacksonville, FL.; her brothers, Ed Little and Warren Hood both of Pres’que Isle, ME, and Wayne Hood of Lewiston, ME; and her grand-children, Lauren Dixon, currently serving in the US Army and Bryson Morrison of Jacksonville, FL.
Funeral Services for Bobbie will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday July 20th, 2010 at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in St. Marys. Father Leo Kennedy will preside over the service. Her ashes will later be taken to Maine, where services will be held with her family and friends there. Afterwards she will be taken to Portage, ME so her ashes can be spread on the Ridge where her mother and fathers were.
