Roy William Millsaps, 57, of Saint Mary's, GA passed away in March 7, 2021 from terminal illness. He battled his illness for 26 years to see his daughters achieve their goals and to be able to be present for his grandchildren's upbringing. Roy fought a Strong Hard battle until he took his last breath in his home surrounded by his loved ones as his last wish.

Roy Millsaps was born on December 15, 1963 in Eton, GA. He grew up in Murray County, GA and Kankakee, IL. In September 1982, He enlisted in the US Navy. Throughout his career, He served on the USS Hunley (HolyLoch, Scotland) from 1984-1986, Port Operations (NSB Kingsbay, GA) from 1986-1988, USS Simon Lake (HolyLoch, Scotland) from 1988-1992, USS Canopus (NSB Kingsbay, GA) from 1992-1996, and TDRL (NSB Kingsbay, GA) from 1996-1999. He was Honorably Discharged from the United States Navy in August 1999. Roy dedicated his Life to serving his country and giving back. Since 2000, Roy was a Service Officer all over Camden County for the United Veterans Association and rebuilt the American Legion #312 in Kingsland, GA in 2001-2002 as the President. He assisted several Veterans to achieve what they needed to get proper disability compensation, medical equipment, and medical assistance.

On February 14, 1985 in Greenock, Scotland, Roy married the love of his life, Catherine Douglas. Throughout their 36 years of marriage, he had the ability to raise 3 Strong Willed Independent daughters. He enjoyed fishing with his grandsons, enjoyed historical site-seeing with his granddaughter, and time with all the grandchildren at his home baking and watching movies. Roy was an avid woodworker who taught many people throughout the years including his grandchildren. Roy was an instructor for Woodworkers Guild of America, many of his projects were donated to St Jude's Children's Hospital and Wolfsons Children’s Hospital in Jacksonville, FL.

He is preceded in death by his son, Shaun Douglas Millsaps; his brother Calvin Coolidge Millsaps, JR; and his father Calvin Coolidge Millsaps, SR.

Roy is survived by his wife, Catherine Millsaps; his daughters, Jane G. Millsaps, Stacy P. and Jonathan Bills, and Chloe S. Millsaps; his grandchildren, Jamie S. Crews, Johnathan G. Crews, Jayden-Christopher R. Crews, and Marissa D. Bills; his dad, Michael Pitts; his mother Velma Pitts; brother and sisters in law, Gordon and Maryanne Douglas, Mary Millsaps, and Casey Millsaps; sisters and brother in laws, Violet and Daniel Griffin, Brenda and Michael Colclasure, Brigitt and Michael Schmidt, and Tressa and Joe Raper; several Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, Great Nieces, Great Nephews, and Several Close Friends.

Funeral Arrangements are arranged and serviced by Coastal Camden Funeral Home as follows: a small family memorial will be held with immediate family at his home, by Rev Juance Wilson. Roy will have 3 final resting spots: with his son in Fairy Valley Cemetery, at Sea by the US Navy, and in River Clyde, Scotland.

A Graveside Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, March 18, 2021 at 11:00 am at Fairy Valley Cemetery in Crandall, GA

Roy will Forever be remembered for his Strong Willingness, Assertiveness, Passionate Drive to help others, his Strong Love for his Wife, Children, and GrandChildren, and for his "seasoned coffee cup and front porch" conversations & beautiful woodworking skills. The family thanks everyone for their prayers and thoughts during this difficult time. Special Thank you to the nurses and doctors at Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick, GA and the VA clinic of North Jacksonville and St Mary’s Clinic. Any donations are asked to be donated to Disabled American Veterans Charitable Service Trust or to St. Jude's Children's Hospital
