Mr. Roy Clayton Murray Reynolds, Jr. , age 34 of Brunswick, Ga., passed away unexpectedly Thursday, July 14th, 2016 at Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, Ga.
Roy was born July 12th, 1982 in Brunswick, Ga. to Ola Mae Nelson Reynolds and the late Roy Clayton Murray Reynolds, Sr. He attended school in Glynn County and was employed by The Jekyll Island Club Hotel during his high school years. Roy has also been an employee of Sea Pac, Latitude 31, and Moondoggies Pizza. His present employment was with Mallery Street Cafe and Ocean Lodge on St. Simons Island, Ga. Most people remember Roy’s amazing smile and bubbly personality. In his pastime, Roy enjoyed cars, socializing, working, and playing pool. He also made sure people heard and felt his presence. You’d often times hear him saying things like….”It’s me… I’m in the building!”, or say words like “Ma’sad”, sort of mad and sort of sad, as he explained it. His friends and family called these “Royism’s”. Roy was one of the most giving people you’d ever meet and he never hesitated to put his neck on the line for a total stranger. His easy laugh, willingness to give of himself and overall zest for life will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Roy is survived by his mother, Ola Mae Reynolds of Brunswick, Ga., his daughters, Royce Reynolds of Brunswick, Ga., and Kailyn Jade Hamilton of Brunswick, Ga.; his sons, Kaiden Reynolds of Atlanta, Ga., Caleb Thomas and Alijah Reynolds, both of Brunswick, Ga., his sisters, Tiffany Wiley, Katina (Carlos) Pena, Shataria Nelson, and Renesha Reynolds, all of Brunswick, Ga., and Deveny Mosby of Alma, Ga.; and his numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Roy was preceded in passing by his father, Roy Clayton Murray Reynolds, Sr. in 1997.
Calling hours for Mr. Reynolds will be from 6 PM to 9 PM Friday, July 22nd, 2016 at Coastal Camden Funeral Home/ 935 East King Avenue, Kingsland, Ga. Funeral services will be held at 11 am Saturday, July 23rd, 2016 at the Shiloh Baptist Church/ 1221 Egmont Street, Brunswick, Ga. Reverend Dorceil Smiley, Pastor Keith Brinson, Pastor Tony Reynolds, and Minister Birdy Mae Allen will be presiding over the service and the speakers will include Samantha Thompson, James Allen, Renesha Reynolds, Caleb Reynolds and Vernon Guyton.
Pallbearers will be Lance Stuart Williams, I, Lance Stuart Williams, II, Dustin Ballew, Taylor Smith, Jeremy Myrick, Steven Pettway, Anthony Davis, Jason Gibbons, and Kevin Youngblood. Octoria Williams, Stella Hayes, and Sarah Jenkins will be singing.
