Ruby Gay

Mrs. Ruby Virginia Tuggle Gay was born on August 6, 1923 to Ms. Naomi Tuggle, in a small rural town in Spalding County Georgia called Vaughn. Mrs. Ruby departed this earthly life on December 1, 2013 at the Westbury Medical Care Home. She was the oldest of seven children.

Mrs. Ruby married the late Charlie “Rob” Gay, of which seven (7) children were born into this union. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by two dearly beloved siblings.

Mrs. Ruby was a long time employee of the late Dr. Joel Cox.

As a member of the Eight Street Baptist Church for over 50 years, she loved to fellowship with her family and friends. Mrs. Ruby loved cooking and baking and in her later years she really enjoyed traveling to Biloxi and cities in the southeastern states.

Mrs. Ruby leaves to cherish her memories: Three daughters Dorothy Cooper (New Haven, CT); Charlene Melton (Willie) (New Haven, CT); Wessie Smith (Austell, GA); A Special step daughter Judy Ellis (Detroit, MI); Three Sons Freddy Gay (Dorothy); Mickey Gay (Sarah); Rickey Gay; all of Griffin, GA. Two sisters, Lizzie White and Dorothy Davis (Griffin, GA); Two brothers, Jessie White (Clyde) of Griffin, GA and Andrew J. White (Cleveland, OH); Six grandchildren; three great grandchildren and many relatives and friends.
