Mr. Russell Chad Porter, age 46 of Kingsland, Ga., passed away on the evening of Tuesday,
August 2nd, 2022 in Brunswick, Ga.
Mr. Porter was born on December 17th, 1975 in GulfPort, MS. to the Rusty Sheffield and Nancy
Porter.
Grandfather, Father, Husband, Brother, Son. Chad was all these things and more to everyone
around him and anyone who knew him. He will be missed greatly as a man who loved his family
and those around him. He loved to fish, whether it was on a dock, or in the ocean stranded 10
miles out with no engine or on a sandbar. He was an amazing chef, who could compete with the
best of them, taking pride in everything he did. An individual who loved to tell jokes and pull
pranks, loving to make people laugh and smile. In his youth he played all sports, helping win
multiple state championships for his school. He took pride in being a hard worker and a
craftsman in multiple trades. Chad was kind and giving, always helping anyone in need no
matter how little the task was, and went out of his way daily, for the betterment of those around
him. He loved life to the point that in his death, he passed on life by being an organ donor. He
was a very devoted father, who treasured his kids above all else!
Mr. Porter is survived by his wife, Janet Porter of Kingsland, Ga.; his children, Tristan (Erliana
Marzuki) Porter of Valdosta, Ga., Bryanna Porter of Kingsland, Ga., and Jordan (Keaton)
Hollingsworth of Fort Worth Tx., Dorsey Popham of Folkston, Ga., James (Katherine) Popham
of Waynesville, Ga., Trevor (Angel Jackson) of Knoxville, Tn., and Waylon Popham of
Kingsland, Ga.; his parents, Marc and Nancy Porter; his father, Russell (Michelle) Sheffield; his
sisters, Sarah McCutchen, Jacoba Porter, and Fallon (Sean) Triano; his brother, Brian Porter; his
grandchildren, Magnolia Popham, Maison Hollingsworth, Ayman Rizar, and Nayla Zahra and his
former wife, Danielle Woodin.
A visitation will be held from 1 pm to 3 pm Monday, August 8th, 2022 at Coastal Camden Funeral Home in Kingsland, Ga. Funeral Services will follow immediately in the Woods-Wainwright Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Steve Curtis presiding.
