Mrs. Sandra Clarese Buchanan , 48 of Kingsland passed away Wednesday March 3rd, 2010 in St. Vincent’s Medical Center.
Mrs. Buchanan is a Laurens County, Ga. native. She was born in Dublin on November 29th, 1961 and is the daughter of the late Herbert B. Hooks and Jeanette Evans Hooks. Mrs. Buchanan grew up in Dublin. After graduation, she worked there in the Laurens County School System as a paraprofessional teacher. On January 12th, 1980 she was married to Richard B. Buchanan and they have shared 30 years of life and love together. They came to Camden County in 1989. Mrs. Buchanan became a floral designer for Winn-Dixie. Her passions were in her hands as a master florist and as an accomplished cross stitcher, crotcheter and needle worker. She also loved being outdoors and with her family. Mrs. Buchanan was a member of the St. Marys Church of Christ. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Mrs. Buchanan is survived by her beloved husband, Richard B. Buchanan of Kingsland; her daughter Racheal (Donald) Barrick of Savannah; her son, Micheal (Glenda) Buchanan of Harriett’s Bluff; her mother, Jeanette Hooks of Dublin; her mother and father in law, Lavern and Sabina Buchanan of St. Marys; her brother, Jeff Hooks of Dublin, and her two grandchildren Austin Barrick and Shelby Buchanan.
A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 PM Friday, March 5th, 2010 at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Saturday, March 6th, 2010 at the St. Marys Church of Christ with Elder Terry Powell officiating. Pallbearers will be members of the church.
Interment will follow in the Trey lot at Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Marys.
