Saralyn Fountain

Mrs. Saralyn Peters Fountain, age 63, of Milner, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2016 at Eternal Hope Hospice in Griffin, surrounded by her family.

Saralyn was born on May 21, 1952 in Macon, GA to the late Douglas Noel Peters and the late Joyce Sanders Peters of Barnesville. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Noel Anthony “Rusty” Peters and nephew, Adam Noel Peters.

Saralyn had a strong love and passion for children and served as school teacher in the Griffin-Spalding county school system for many years. In 1990 Saralyn and her best friend Bonnie Brown took that passion and together co-founded Stepping Stones Educational Therapy Center in Griffin. She was an active member of Union Primitive Baptist Church in Goggans as well as the AMBUCS Club of Griffin, and the Shag Club of Macon.

Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Fountain; son, Matthew Castellaw; daughters and son-in-law, Noelle Hodgson and Evan, Trellis Fountain and Randi Jane Fountain; sisters and brother-in-law; Jayne Carey Peters Smith, Carla Peters Duncan and Tony; sister-in-law, Lynn Peters; grandchildren, Lawson Castellaw, Landan Castellaw, Lydia Hodgson and Victoria Hodgson; nieces and nephews; Christy Herauf, Jenny Culler, Chance Peters, Clint Smith, Bethany Buice, Caroline Smith, Luke Duncan and Logan Duncan; and special cousin, Sandra Scott Rarrick.

Funeral services for Mrs. Saralyn Peters Fountain will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church in Griffin. Elder John Forehand will officiate. Interment will follow at Union Primitive Baptist Church cemetery in Goggans. Friends may visit the family on Wednesday evening from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Stepping Stones Educational Therapy Center 141 Futral Road Griffin, GA 30224.
