Shandon Skaggs

Mrs. Shandon Marie Skaggs , 37 of St. Marys passed away at her residence Sunday, October 17th, 2010. Mrs. Skaggs was born December 24th, 1972 in Nashville, Tennessee. She is the daughter of Linda Horne Anderson and the late Jeffery Leon McConnell, Jr. She was a resident of Jacksonville, FL until 2002, when she made the Kingsland/St. Mary’s area her home. Shandon loved the Lord and has looked forward to being able to go home to be with Him for many weeks now. Although we will miss her here on earth, we are rejoicing that we now have a very special guardian angel to look over us from above.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry V. Skaggs; her two beautiful children, Ashley Nickole Deonas and Andrew Marshall Deonas; her mother, Linda D. Anderson (Jessie); her brothers, Greg L. McConnell, Patrick A. McConnell (Paige), Jessie E. Anderson, Jr. (Laura); her sisters, Gina L. Carlton (Mabry) and Angela Welniak (Mike); sister-in-law, Angie Filson; her grandmother, Nell M. Horne; Nieces, Kayla, Brittanni, Katelyn, Lauryn, Karleigh, Emmaleigh and Lydia; nephews, Patrick, Dillon, Eric and Josh; numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles; adopted son, Keith Brown (Marsha) and Miss Quincy; and a multitude of friends.
Her life will be celebrated with a memorial service to be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, October 23, 2010, at First Baptist Church of St. Mary’s with Pastors Roland Norris, Jr. and Pastor Jeffery W. Ray.
It is Shandon’s wish that her Memorial service be one of celebration; her request was for family and friends to honor her by wearing colorful clothing. Flowers may be delivered to the church at 102 West Weed Street, St. Mary’s, Georgia 31558, on Friday October 22, 2010. In Lieu of Flowers, donations may be made to Heartland Hospice, Brunswick, Ga.
